Workshops and Programs
Built with you, not pulled off a shelf.
Every organisation says its people development is tailored.
Here is what that actually means in practice: I do not default to material already developed.
I can offer workshops and programs that have already been developed, but it's not the default.
I find out what is going on, then design for that, and I will tell you if a workshop is not the answer.
What we can work on
Targeted for your needs
Built for your specific needs and environment.
The areas people ask me for most.
New people managers
The step from doing the work to leading the people doing the work. Usually the least supported transition in any organisation.
Leadership development
For established leaders who need to lead differently as the organisation grows or changes shape around them.
DISC assessments and workshops
Understanding your own communication style and preferences plus everyone else's. Designed to be interactive and practical.
Building effective teams
Team development for groups that are new, newly merged, newly led, or simply not working the way they should be.
WHAT IT IS LIKE IN THE ROOM
Serious work, done with fun
Emerging leaders
Developing the people almost ready to step from doing the work to leading the people doing the work.
Values, Rituals and more
Designing or redesigning your values, identifying or creating the rituals that reinforce those, and the ones that get in the way.
There is a version of professional development where everyone sits politely, nods at the model on the slide, and forgets it by the next day. That is not what I run.
The sessions that work have energy in them. There is laughter, there is genuine debate, and there are moments where someone visibly rethinks something. People stay in the room because they want to be there, not because attendance was recorded.
If nobody laughed and nobody changed their mind, it was not a good workshop.
Interactive, not a talking head
Participants do the thinking. My job is to set up the conditions where that happens, then create the space.
Grounded in your actual situations
We work with the real situations and conversations your people need to have, not tidy case studies about a fictional company.
Down to earth
No jargon, no performance of expertise. If a concept cannot survive being explained in plain words, it is probably not that useful.
Case Study
A two-year leadership program, multisite healthcare.
Commencing in 2025, collaborating with a partner, we designed, developed and delivered a leadership program for a multisite healthcare organisation, combining coaching with workshops. Continuous improvement resulted in the addition of deep dives to support leaders embed and action the learning.
The workshops were built around that organisation's specific needs rather than a standard curriculum, and each one was supported by targeted activities between sessions so the learning could be embedded with and by the organisation. That is the part most programs skip, and it is usually why they do not stick.
The results?
Engagement survey results shifted: Positive movement in the organisation's engagement survey after the first year.
Confidence in leading people increased: Participants reported greater confidence in leading their people.
Coaching and workshops running together over an extended period, because capability does not build in an afternoon.
Formats
From a single session to a program.
Packages flex depending on what your business actually needs. These are the common shapes.
01
A single workshop
One topic, one session
Good for a specific capability gap, a team offsite, or testing whether our style suits your people before committing to more.
02
A short series.
A few sessions, one theme.
Enough alignment for things to be embedded. Participants try things between sessions and bring back what happened, which is where most of the learning and insights happen.
03
A development program.
Months not days.
Workshops, deep dives and one to one coaching running together, with activities between sessions to embed the learning.
04
DISC as a standalone.
Assessments and workshop.
Individual assessments with a debrief, or a full team workshop as the group debrief. Couple with a fun interactive workshop to really understand each other in depth.
How we start
Design first, delivery second
First
Then
After that
Finally
A conversation
Understanding your needs. What is actually happening, what have you tried. What does success look like for you.
Design
Content built around your situations and your people, at the right level for the group in the room.
Deliver
The sessions themselves, in person or virtual, with energy that encourages people to participate rather than endure.
Embed
Targeted activities between and after sessions, so what happened in the room turns into what happens at work.
