Human Resources (HR) support
Human Resources support sized to what you
actually need.
Some organisations need someone to call when something lands on the desk.
Others need a person in the room for two days a month.
This page is designed to help you work out what option is best for your business.
Sound familiar?
You may be here because of one of these.
-
You want HR support, someone you can trust, someone who you get to know, and they get to know you, your team and your organisation
-
A performance conversation you have been putting off for weeks
-
Policies that were written a few years ago and nobody has looked at them since.
-
You have grown and the way that you managed people when you were 10 no longer works with 40 people
-
Good people are leaving and you are not sure why
-
A specific piece of work needs to be done properly, and nobody has the time
-
You want a senior HR person at the table without a full-time salary.
Ways we can work together
Same person.
Different amount of me
These are laid out from the lightest touch to the most embedded. Most people start on the left and move as trust builds. There is no wrong choice, and you can change your mind.
Initial Consulting
Best when you need help now,
not a commitment.
Call me when something comes up. Peace of mind, on call, pre-paid.
No retainer.
No retainer, minimum two hour engagement.
Project Consulting
Best when one specific thing needs to be done well .
Specialist expertise for a defined piece of work, with clear scope and an end point. For example: policy reviews, remuneration benchmarking, engagement surveys, startegic reviews, HR systems and HRMIS implementation.
Consulting
Best when you need help now and again.
Ongoing relationship, call or email when something comes up.
Peace of mind, on call, invoiced.
No retainer, no minimum engagement.
Retainer Support
Best when HR is a constant, not occasional.
A fixed monthly fee for an agreed number of hours of ongoing support and advice. Budget you can plan around, and a relationship deep enough that I start spotting the opportunities rather than only handling the problems.
Support Bundles
Best when things come in waves.
Pre-purchase a block of hours and draw down on them as things arise. You get flexibility and a proper working relationship, without an ongoing commitment. I get to know you over time, so the advice becomes less reactive and more useful. Minimum ten-hour initial engagement.
Fractional HR Leadership
Best when you need HR in the leadership team.
A dedicated HR professional embedded in your organisation for set days each month, and on call in between. You get a senior person at the table without the full-time cost, and the depth of insight that only comes from genuinely knowing a business.

TESTIMONIAL
"Desleigh White is the 'unicorn' of HR business partners. She is knowledgeable, very experienced, proactive, challenges those she partners with and creates a professional and approachable environment for employees."
Steve Pratley, (previously) Transformation Director, WPP
How we start
Nothing is signed on the first call.
FIRST
A conversation
Twenty minutes, no cost. You tell me what is going on. I tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it.
THEN
Then a proposal in plain words
What I would do, which way of working suits, what it costs. Short enough to read in one sitting.
AFTER THAT
We get on with it
You deal with me directly the whole way through. If the arrangement stops fitting, we change it.
